Join talented local Williamstown artist Robyn Barnacle for a seaweed pressing workshop deeply connected to nature at the Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park.
This workshop will commence at Shelley Beach as the tide starts to recede, leaving behind a diverse and beautiful selection of seaweed species. Robyn will guide participants through the process of seaweed selection before we stroll to our outdoor workshop space with views of the ocean where Robyn will demonstrate preparation, arrangement, and mounting of our specimens onto beautiful Italian rag paper.
We will pause for afternoon tea, with a selection of Indigenous-inspired treats and tea before preparing our pieces to take home. By the end of the session you’ll leave with a series of seaweed pressings that can be framed for display.
