I first began running bookbinding workshops during Reconciliation Week in 2022, raising funds Children’s Ground, a first Nations-led organisation based in the Northern Territory. Each year since, I’ve continued to support their work and have been proud to be among their top fundraisers.

Children’s Ground focuses on First Nations learning systems, guided by Elders, cultural educators and Western-trained teachers. Their programs are delivered on Country, creating culturally rich and safe environments that celebrate and strengthen knowledge, language and connection.

As a non-Indigenous person, I believe reconciliation isn’t something that happens in a week, it’s something we work towards every day, through the choices we make and the actions we take.

I aim to give as much money as possible to the charities I support, so once my materials costs are covered, all other profits are donated.

Into the future, I hope to continue supporting First Peoples–led organisations, especially those focused on the wellbeing of women and children.
