Materials cost: $8
Donation to charity: $7
Time to create: 1 hour
Materials & method
• Made using the highest quality handmade paper, created using traditional European medieval papermaking techniques, chosen for its beauty, texture, and longevity.
• When available, papers include a watermark, a translucent emblem visible when held to the light, a tradition that began in 13th-century Italy.
• Each flower and leaf is foraged or picked from the garden at Thrums and pressed with care before being arranged and affixed by hand.
• Adhesive is made from scratch using wheat starch, cooked and prepared using traditional Japanese methods, a gentle, archival glue that honours centuries of bookbinding craft.
• Includes a matching handmade paper envelope.
• Each card measures approximately 110 x 170 mm (height x width) when folded.
• Can be framed as a unique artwork to fit a standard 5 x 7 inch (130 x 180 mm) frame (not included).
• Natural dyes in flowers are light sensitive; to preserve their delicate hues, display your card in a cosy nook away from direct sunlight.
• Every piece is one of a kind, a quiet meeting of handmade paper, natural beauty and patience.
