Cyanotype workshop - Saturday 15 November
Date: Saturday 15 November 2025
Time: 1 - 4pm
Location: Mt Rothwell Sanctuary, 5 Mount Rothwell Rd, Little River
Price: $150
Materials and afternoon tea cost: $15
Donation to charity: $135
Workshop time: 3 hours
Join us this November for a relaxed and creative afternoon of cyanotype making, hosted by Louise from Thrums Craft Cottage. We’re meeting at the beautiful Mt Rothwell Sanctuary, a 473-hectare predator-free conservation reserve just west of Melbourne, where some of Australia’s most endangered native animals thrive in protected grasslands and woodlands.
Over three hours, you’ll begin with a nature walk through the sanctuary grounds to collect local kangaroo grass, using it as part of your own cyanotype artwork. Then we’ll pause for afternoon tea, with a selection of Indigenous-inspired treats and tea, before returning to finish your pieces. By the end of the session you’ll leave with a beautiful and original artwork to take home.
All proceeds beyond material costs will be donated to charity, making this workshop a lovely way to connect, create and give back, while also enjoying one of Victoria’s most unique conservation settings.
